Ducks*

The grackles in our neighborhood like to follow me around while I'm mowing the grass to eat the bugs that are stirred up by the lawnmower. Often there are seven or eight, but evidently they are camera shy. Anytime Gennie tries to document their behavior most of them go and hide.

Speaking of ducks, we have recently acquired a swan named Downie, a new little sister for Feathers. Downie likes to help her mommy surf the internet and check on tomatoes, and to help her daddy read about computers.

*According to Gennie, all birds are known as ducks, especially birds that live in the water. This is easier than remembering what they are all called.
